The Justus Story

.Justus, also known as Minister D, is a rising Gospel Rapper from Walterboro, South Carolina. Justus’ foot tapping beats and powerful soul searching lyrics reaches out not only to the young, but the young at heart. “Come Home To Jesus” is just the beginning of his mission to bring the true word of God to every listener!

Justus was born Leonard Darnell Daniels on May 13, 1974. He was the first born child of Leonard Melvin Daniels and Christena Allen Ford. At a young age, after the separation of his parents, times grew hard for his mother. Justus was forced to live with his uncle and aunt, Richard and Viola Singleton. Justus grew up in a very religious home. At the age of 15 years old, he ran away and moved in with his mother and sisters Sheila and Kawan. He later turned to the streets to help support his mother and sisters. There is were he met his father. After years of selling drugs, getting into trouble, and running from the law, Justus decided to change his life. He moved to Orlando, Florida to chase his dream of becoming a Rap Artist. He excelled there by working in numerous studios learning how to produce music. He also owned many different record shops in South Carolina, and in Florida. Justus, while working at Restore Orlando in Florida, met now manager and brother in the faith Minister Luis Phelps. He realized something else was missing, JESUS CHRIST! After attending many different churches, he met Elder Harry J. Blackwell who introduced him to the Apostolic faith. Justus, already filled with the Holy Ghost, was baptized in Jesus Christ name and later was ordained an Apostolic Minister.

Justus has appeared on the Apollo Theatre in New York City twice, performed on BET in Milwaukee to raise money for kids with cancer, and was a semi-finalist on the Trinity Broadcast Network. His video “Battlefield,” was nominated in the Universal Studios Film Festival in Orlando. He also ministered, performed, and received awards from many different churches around the world.

Threw his journey, Justus has witness to many different nationalities about the Apostolic faith. He also was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Sister Nevelyn S. Daniels and together they now have eight beautiful children, Andre, Maliyah, Keiosha, Chantrell, DeShana, Dejauntea, Diziah, and Leonard Jr. Justus moved back to his hometown of Walterboro, and is currently over a sanctuary there.
